The first week of June is the Spanish tourism awakening with the opening of museums, cultural centers and gastronomy, the added value that each year attracts millions of travelers. The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao already receives the first visitors, and in Madrid they do so at the Lope de Vega House Museum, the Cervantes House (Alcala de Hennares), the Dos de Mayo Art Center, the Regional Archaeological Museum, the Picasso Museum-Eugenio Arias Collection, the New Interpretation Center Baztan.

The CaixaForum centers of the Community of Madrid also open on Monday, June 1 – The Children’s Day, with new security measures: very small capacity, fewer tickets per time slot and new circuits within the center that must be followed to avoid as much contact as possible between incoming and outgoing visitors. The partitions have been installed in the attention to the visitor´s desk.

The reopening of the art triangle of the capital: the Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen museums start next June 6, gradually. Access to the Museo de Reína Sofía will be free during the first weekend (June 6th and 7th), but with a third of its capacity. The Prado Museum has changed the air filter system, so that inside the center the air will have the same quality as in a hospital.

In the museums there will be no shortage of hydro-alcoholic gel or wipes at the entrance, mandatory face masks throughout the journey and, of course, respecting the two-meter distance between visitors and center staff. In addition, the maximum number of people on guided tours will be limited.

Tourists must use their own headphones for audio guides, the centers must supply disposable headphones to visitors. Trying to avoid the distribution of brochures, they will be provided individually. The use of the wardrobe will be limited, in which only backpacks or umbrellas may be left in bags.

Soon will open the Madrid´s History Museum and other municipal museums (June 9).

The big parks of Madrid such as Retiro and Casa Campo are open, bun NOT those of attractions, nor the Parque de Europa in Torrejón de Ardoz.

The coronavirus leaving an atypical summer with difficult vacations in full pandemic. Without being able to attend large sporting and cultural events, with restrictions on beaches and swimming pools, trips will be made under control and pending the evolution of the virus. We must have high self-discipline and help prevent the spread of the virus plague, even sitting on a terrace of the restaurant, park or camping.
